The Smart Building Co-Creation Organization (SBCO) is a Japanese industry association established in April 2025 to accelerate the adoption of smart buildings through public-private collaboration.

SBCO directly succeeded the smart building architecture project of the Digital Architecture Design Center (DADC) at the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA), an agency under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and was incorporated with a newly assembled membership. Founded by twelve companies spanning construction, electronics, security, telecommunications and technology startups, it has grown to approximately 140 member organizations.

SBCO defines a smart building as one that extends its capabilities by combining internal and external assets, enables data-driven control through cyber-physical systems, and delivers services across a wider urban area through building-to-building coordination. Rather than treating digitalization as cost reduction, SBCO views software as the means by which a building gains value over time.

Six working groups carry the work: Ecosystem, Information & Analysis, Standardization, Security, Promotion & Education, and Societal Implementation. SBCO collaborates with the University of Tokyo's Green University of Tokyo Project and is a member organization of APIGBA.
